katté means a platform around a tree in kannada. it is a forum or meetingpoint for people. it has sacred associations when you see it around a peepul-tree. It is also a place to pause and to feel at home.
katte-beingathome is showing the 4 week process of our cooperation with Maraa and our activities and view of the city during our residency at 1Shanti Road, Bangalore, India. Salon Emmer shared its artistic approach with performers, artists, students and pupils and exchanged ways of expression through movement. Connecting with the community around 1Shanthi Road and getting to know the work of Maraa ́s artists and other community projects was another important part of this residency in Bangalore in february 2010.
